Some Tips on Tanning

  1. Always wear protective eyewear.
  2. Do not tan any more often than 48 hours for each session.
  3. Do not go natural tanning and indoor tanning the same day.
  4. Know the difference between UVA and UVB rays.
  5. Think about using indoor tanning lotion that's specifically made for using a tanning machine and it will extend your tan.
  6. You can either tan nude, with a swimsuit on or underwear on. Being in the bed can warm you up and you might sweat. Most people tan in the nude for this reason. The tanning salon should give you a towel to use.
  7. The bed should be clean before you use it. Some places will have you clean the bed again before and after you use it.
  8. If you're just starting out, then start with a lower amount of time like 7 minutes and then gradually work your way up to 12 minutes or whatever the maximum time for the bed is (if you want).
  9. Know that using a tanning bed may not be good for your health and skin cancer may develop with continued use.
